Skye Live Festival 2025: Island Vibes, Highland Beats, and Epic Views Await
Hey festival fam! Time to mark those calendars and start packing your ponchos because Skye Live Festival is back for its 10th birthday bash, and it's going to be an absolute belter. From Thursday, May 8 to Saturday, May 10, 2025, the Isle of Skye transforms into Scotland’s most breathtaking party spot — and trust us, you’ve never danced to beats this good with views this unreal.
Set against the wild beauty of Portree Harbour, nestled between the dramatic Cuillin Ridge and the iconic Old Man of Storr, this open-air celebration at Am Meall (aka The Lump) brings music, community, and island energy together like nowhere else on Earth.
🎉 A Decade of Highland Magic
Let’s rewind for a sec. Skye Live Festival kicked off in 2015, born from a dream to fill the music-shaped hole left by the old Isle of Skye Music Festival. It started simple: one stage, DJs on Friday, bands on Saturday. But it didn’t take long for Skye Live to level up.
By 2016, they experimented with a bigger venue, but quickly realized there’s just something special about The Lump. The festival moved back in 2017 and hasn’t looked back. From unforgettable sets by Niteworks, Django Django, Peatbog Faeries, and The Waterboys, to epic DJ nights with Andrew Weatherall and Simian Mobile Disco, Skye Live has earned its rep as one of Scotland’s must-do music events.
The pandemic put things on pause for a bit, but even then, they pivoted with a stunning online edition shot at Skye’s most iconic locations. Now, in 2025, they’re celebrating 10 years strong—and you're invited to the party. 🎂
🎶 The Vibes: Music Meets Mountains
So what’s the vibe? Think a killer mix of electronic beats, live Scottish trad, and genre-blending acts that’ll have you dancing under the open sky. Skye Live is known for blending heritage and hype — you could be raving to a cutting-edge DJ set one minute, and vibing to a soulful Gaelic folk band the next. Pure Highland hedonism.
And the crowd? Friendly, chilled, and here for the love of music and the magic of the island.
🎧 Skye Live 2025 Lineup: Trad, Electronica & Everything In Between

From genre-defying bands to spine-tingling DJs and a whole lot of local love, this year’s 10th anniversary edition is shaping up to be next level.

📍 Where It's At: Portree, Isle of Skye
The festival takes over Am Meall, a lush green peninsula that’s been home to the Skye Highland Games since 1877. It's all-standing, totally open-air, with the Main Stage under a Big Top tent (so if Skye's infamous weather rolls in, you're still dancing).
You’ll enter from Bank Street, right in the heart of Portree. Once you're in, get ready for jaw-dropping views, a community vibe like no other, and sound systems that'll shake the Highlands.
🚗 Getting There: Make It a Scenic Journey
Whether you're road-tripping through the Highlands or catching a Citylink bus from Glasgow or Edinburgh, getting to Skye is part of the adventure.
If you’re driving, go via the Skye Bridge (it’s free and offers views for days). Ferry routes via Mallaig can be dreamy but might face delays — so plan accordingly.
And for drivers, there’s some solid news: Portree’s Bayfield West Car Park is lifting stay restrictions from May 7–12. That means you can park for multiple days hassle-free. Just book online via RingGo (not the app) in advance.
🏕️ Sleep Under the Stars
Skye Live runs a super chill pop-up campsite just a short 15–20 min walk from the festival site. It’s basic, but perfect for those who want to stay close to the action (and maybe save a few £££). Think fresh water, toilets, no showers, and zero power — aka, back to festival basics.
🌟 Hot Tip: Get your campsite ticket separately, and remember it’s tent-only. No camper vans or cars allowed. If you're driving, use the public parking in Portree and make the short walk in. Simple as that.
🧳 What to Pack
- Layers, people — Scottish weather likes to keep you guessing.
- Good walking shoes — Especially if you're camping.
- Reusable water bottle — Stay hydrated, save the planet.
- Your festival fit — Because photos with that backdrop deserve it.
- Earplugs & power bank — Always underrated, always needed.
🎟️ Don't Miss Out
Tickets are flying, with presale numbers already smashing records. If you want to be part of this iconic anniversary edition, don’t wait too long. Individual Friday & Saturday tickets will drop in March 2025 (if there’s any left). So, best grab that weekend pass and lock in your spot.
